Why should the Indian Army not abandon its sunsetters, said R. K. Prasad on Wednesday, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the army that it would not abandon them.
“It will remain a sunsetter for a long time.
This is the way we are,” he said at the National Council for Advanced Research and Development (NCAR) here.
“But the Army will not abandon the sunsetters.
We will give it a go and give a call to the Army and say, ‘You can have them’,” he added.
Modi on Wednesday announced that the army would be given sunsetters for the first time.
He said he was convinced that it was the right decision to provide sunsetters to the army to protect the nation’s security.
